2006 Isola d'Elba rally - Italia
| Come al solito un grande raduno dell'Isola d'Elba anche per il 2006. Non mi stancherò mai di ripeterlo, questo è a mio modesto parere il miglior raduno della stagione. I fattori sono semplicemente elencati; prima di tutto si svolge in un luogo incantevole, la Baia di Morcone, che considerando pure il fatto che è il primo raduno vero una volta usciti dall'inverno, gode di quell'aurea estiva anzitempo che non si riuscirebbe a cogliere da nessuna altra parte. Poi perchè è sapientemente organizzata dal Green Onions S.C. con serate che spesso vedono sfilare sul palco celebrità della scena musicale alternativa ed altre accattivanti iniziative che coinvolgono le persone e l'uso dei mezzi. Poi in questo particolare anno, mentre tutta l'Italia era letteralmente sommersa dalla pioggia, la nostra isoletta ci ha riservato una tre giorni di sole e temperatura gradevolissima che ha anche permesso ai più audaci il primo bagno della stagione. Da rimarcare l'incidente occorso ad un partecipante dei Thunderballs S.C. a pochi chilometri dal raduno, quando un motociclista impaziente di dimostrare la sua (poca) abilità di guida ha finito per urtarlo sul manubrio facendogli perdere il controllo della Lambretta e quindi scivolare a terra con quest'ultima che ha terminato la sua corsa proprio contro un montante dei guard rail. Il risultato è terrificante e potete vederlo dalle foto, fortunatamente il proprietario se l'è cavata solo con qualche escoriazione. Personalmente non avevo mai visto un danno del genere. Tornando al raduno in se ho particolarmente apprezzato l'esibizione delle tre ragazze in un trio a dir poco insolito (contrabbasso, fisarmonica e chitarra elettrica) e la qualità degli scooter presenti, fra i quali spiccavano quelli di diversi partecipanti anglosassoni, quest'anno giunti in numero particolarmente nutrito, che ho saputo avere particolarmente apprezzato la partecipazione. Chissà che l'Isola d'Elba non diventi una valida alternativa al raduno dell'Isola di Wight; anche se certi numeri sono impossibili da realizzare in Italia, gli organizzatori mi hanno riferito di un incremento di circa il 10% degli iscritti, segno evidente che i raduni ben fatti non vanno deserti. |
As usual the Elba rally has been a really good one also this year. I will always say in my opinion this is the best really in the season. The reasons are simple: first of all it takes place in a very beautiful place, the Morcone Bay, that considering we are just come off the winter gives you an anticipation of the summer you couldn't find anywhere else. And also because it is superbly organized by the club Green Onions S.C. with do's often offering musical celebrities on stage and some attracting rides for scooters' and people's pleasure.
This year Italy was literally under the rain, but our small isle has only seen three days of sun and warm temperature which has allowed someone the first season's bath in the cold sea.
To be remarked the accident occourred to a lad from Thunderballs S.C. just a few miles from the rally, when some 'impatient' motorcyclist willing to show his riding skills (very little really) has touched the scooter's steering with the bike making the scooterist loose control of the bike which has ended his run hitting a pole aside of the road. Not very funny for the terrified scooterist mates who has seen the fact, as you can see from the pics the bike is badly damaged but fortunately the scooterist has suffered not much injuries. Personally I had never seen such a damaged bike.
Back to the rally I have particularly appreciated the show of a female musical trio on the beach and the quality of the scooters entered, amongst which there were some really nice from England this year even more attending the rally than previously.
Maybe the Isle of Elba can become an alternative to the Isle of Wight rally; some number are impossible to reach in Italy, but the organizers have told me this year they saw an increase in attendants of 10%, sign the well organized events are well attended.
